Safe Travels!

Weekender_2 Gah! I'm leaving for the airport in just a few hours to travel home for the holidays just like about a kabillion other people. Won't the airport just be a delightful place today! In honor of the busiest travel weekend of the year, here are some awesome travel accessories (get them now and have them in time for your return flight next week! Or just use them for your vacation from your vacation after the holidays).

I love these vintage bowling totes. How cute would they be as weekender bags? So cute!! And if you're traveling abroad like I am today, don't forget a cool case for you passport. (Um, and don't forget your passport!) Use this 1-quart bag with the little bottles to carry your liquids on board and avoid checking your bag. To combat boredom when your flight is inevitably delayed for hours, break out your bananagram game--no pencils, paper or board needed (cocktails at the airport lounge, though, highly suggested). And finally, travel in chic style with this awesome blossom carry-on (so cute, you almost wont mind hanging around the airport to show it off. Almost.).

Any suggestions for travel snacks? I like luna bars, prunes, pretzels and mentos. You?

Pre-holiday survival

TravelworksIf you're planning a whirlwind trip for Thanksgiving next week, you still have time to order your Travel Survival Kit from thisworks.

It's got mini bottles full of soothing, relaxing and energizing mineral oils to help keep you all together during that good ol'American holiday travel. Like the awesome Breathe In calming inhaler, that has "Eucalyptus and Frankincense to clear your head when traveling or feeling run down."

Hey, read that part again: It clears your head during the hoildays when you're feeling RUN DOWN. I'm guessing these will be sold out by Thursday.

Breaking the 3 oz. rule

Doppflask This leather dopp kit is the perfect size for the active traveler. It can hold all your shaving gear and shampoo, and even your toothbrush and contact lens solution.

Oh, and a full bottle of Jim Beam, four collapsible shot glasses, stir sticks, ice tongs and even a corkscrew. Everything you need to make that next business trip totally successful and blurry.

Just make sure you check your bag.

Shale is making a comeback.

Medkit If you're planning to spend these first days of sunshine on the trails, make sure you pick up a pocket survival kit from Adventure Medical Kits. They're only $30 and are stocked with everything you need to patch yourself up if you happen to lose your footing on some slippery shale.

Actually this whole post is just an excuse for me to use the word "shale". It's not used enough! Shale shale shale shale shale. Shale.

Travel Light

914So, I'm flying to Germany today to visit my parents for the holidays and um, I forgot to buy a travel toothbrush and toothpaste!!

If I'd been thinking, I would have stopped by Merz Apothecary and picked up this utterly convenient Burts Bees travel oral care pack, with the cutest little toothbrush and a miniature tube of Cinna Mint toothpaste.

But, now it's too late!  I'm stuck either carrying my awkward regular-size Mentadent, which is so not conducive to travel, or I have to put up with that disgusting furry-teeth syndrome you get when you've been on a plane for way too many hours and have been sucking down cocktail after cocktail and xanax by the fistful.  Great.
