Get bent
FACT: You need to accessorize.
FACT: You don't want to burn your hand holding your overpriced latte.
SOLUTION: This ingenious bentwood cuff that doubles as a java jacket.
Aside from being both gorgeous and functional, they are made with reclaimed architectural veneer offcuts. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but I think it's probably pretty environmentally responsible. So, bonus points for that.
Really, what's not to love?
Accessorizing your disposable cups is nowhere near environmentally responsible.

It's a hell of a lot more responsible than using disposable cardboard sleeves.

True, disposable is not the best way to go. But many coffee shops, like Starbuck's, are using more environmentally friendly packaging and products. You could also say the carbon output it took the coffee beans to come from Columbia is bad too.

Also, the fact that they are reusing/recycling the veneer scraps instead of putting them in a landfill? Hey, that sounds pretty environmentally responsible.

And Andy, you're missing the point that this is ALSO a bracelet which can be worn when you're not holding a hot cup. So it's a multi-tasker, which is what environmentally responsible is supposed to be.

But, that lovely zebrano wood is a threatened species harvested from engangered rainforests -- see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebrawood and http://www.rainforestrelief.org/documents/Guidelines.pdf. (I bought a gorgeous zebra wood table from Room & Board only to later discover this fact, which would have deterred me from the purchase. Oops. Sorry world!) Yes, it's great that these sleeves are from discarded veneer, but would that justify making them out of, say, ivory?
