Flight of the Conchords
I love visiting my long distance boyfriend in NYC for a bunch of reasons, including:
- He's funny
- He makes strong drinks
- He pays for a taxi if it's 3 am and we have to get back to Manhattan from Brooklyn and I don't feel like waiting a goddamn hour for the f*%$ing subway
- He has a huge HDTV, DVR and CABLE!!
When you live with an antenna on your small tv like I do and keep your fingers crossed that on any given night you'll maybe get PBS and NBC, having cable is like moving from McDonalds to Lobster with the Queen. Or something!
Anyway, there's this show on cable? On HBO? Flight of the Conchords? And it's awesome!! Do you know about this show? OMG!! It's just....I don't even know how to describe it! Just--if you have cable...watch it! Watch it with strong drinks!! And also watch this.

I have cable included in my rent, so I feel like my Shotime and HBO are free. I saw a little bit of the first episode of Flight of hte Conchords and didn't like it, but usually I have the same taste as Wendy, so maybe I should give it a try. In fact, I think it comes on in a hour. Just checked. an hour and a half. I'll be watching!

Alas, no cable here. But I've seen enough of those boys on YouTube to know I'd watch the show if I had HBO. My crush is on Jemaine. *sigh*

HBO is like a gateway drug-- I just keep getting addicted to every new thing they come up with. I was anxously awaiting my "Big Love" fix (who knew polygamy could be so sexy...and twisted and confusing!?) when I caught a few minutes of Flight of the Conchords and now a new addiction. So funny! So random! The characters definitely appear to be a little stoned but maybe that's why the show works so well...

Oh my god, I LOVE this show. "What's your name?" "Bret." "Brit?" "Bret." "Brit?" "Bret." And on and on and on, ad infinitum. I can entertain myself for hours, just saying Bret in a New Zealand accent to myself.
